The Goal
Courses
Not everyone learns in the same way or at the same pace. Some people like full-day courses to be able to cover more material; others only have time for half-day courses. Some people prefer to be in a group while others prefer the benefits of one-on-one interaction with the instructor.
Ecion can accommodate any of these situations. We would be pleased to meet with you to discuss the types and levels of training that would be most beneficial to your company. Check out the Contact page for more information.
- Formal classes (both full-day and half-day) are presented for students all from the same company with the same level of training requirements.
- One-on-One personal training is customized for an individual's specific needs. Perfect for those who want to proceed at their own pace.
- Training sessions are held at your own company location which is the most convenient for your staff.
- If preferred, third-party training facilities are available.
- Ecion courses tend to cover more material than is taught by other firms in similar courses.
- Although topics are carefully covered to ensure students' understanding, we don't "fill time" with repetitive exercises of the same concept but prefer to introduce additional topics. Students leave the course with sufficient information to be able to make immediate, practical use of the software package.
- Shortcuts are always emphasized; we want students to understand the fastest and easiest ways to perform tasks.
- Students leave the course with a reference manual or overview notes describing the topics covered in the course and a copy of the exercise files on which they worked.
- Ecion training materials introduce topics of increasing difficulty in a logical progression and are a useful resource for the students.
- Customized materials to meet specific company goals are also possible. This may involve a different arrangement of topics, increased emphasis of certain concepts or the development of completely new materials specific to your company.
- The goal of every Ecion course is application – the ability of students to apply the concepts learned to their own jobs.

Your business gathers a lot of important information – clients, products, suppliers, sales, staff and on and on. A database provides a method whereby you can • organize all of this information, • quickly find the data you need, • print meaningful reports, • keep track of business activities. Access is the most popular database management system for desktop computers. It can handle everything from the simplest collections of name/address data all the way to fully-programmed, sophisticated applications.
Whether you need to learn only how to work with an existing Access database or how to build a new database from the ground up, Ecion can provide the training you require. Alternatively, if you don't have the time or the will to do the work yourself, consider having Ecion develop the project for you.
For the "power users" in the crowd, we offer training in Visual Basic for Applications. VBA is the programming language behind all Microsoft Office programs. Ecion has also provided training in other software packages such as Outlook, GroupWise and Intro to HTML. We have even done training for a medical software application! So if you require specialized software training or customized training materials, let's discuss the possibilities.
